Mapping, num vs vnum, room contents and database

Several birds with one post.

I have seen previous post regarding roomnum and roomvnum. The 'FIND ROOM' search has no facility for searching for the MUD vnum...unless that vnum has been added somehow to the room note, or roomID (shortname) or (somehow) to the UserStr field (maybe). I tried adding an extra script line to my room painting EVENT so as to magically name the room to the same as the mud vnum:

%roomid(,%gmcp.room.info.num)

But all shortnames stayed blank.

I have a database POTIONS - for potions obviously. I selected a suitable shop room from the mapper, clicked to ROOM CONTENTS option, with a view to adding database items to the room contents. No matter how many times I tried to add an item or items to the room, they have never appeared. I tried both in follow and map mode but no records from database added.

Any info for the above issues would be appreciated.

Thanks

Editing the map to use the game side vnums usually takes 3rd party database editing.
The map has its own vnums which are basically the order of room creation.

You need to: #CALL %roomid()
You may need to toggle %maplocked as well.

I understand that the map is (probably) using a SQLITE database and therefore it will need some external adjusting. I thought maybe that could have been scripted from within the client.

How about the database/mapper problem not populating a room with equipment contents?

I assume you mean the exernal databases, which I am just not familiar with.
