Alias for a Playername?

Is there a way to build an alias for a hard to spell player name? I can't seem to figure out how and google fu isn't helping me.

Thanks in advance

You could use the tab completion feature for this, so long as it has appeared on the screen, just spell the start of it and hit tab.
Some games have a game side nickname feature you could use for this as well.

The closest thing to that in CMUD would be variables (and functions).
#HELP #VARIABLE to read the instructions for it.
But that would likely be awkward.

Tab completion will work I think, didn't know it existed. Thanks for the reply.

Another way to handle it is through the #SUB command

You could make a trigger for his name, and #sub to the nickname.....etc...

OR

Some muds have sub built in as a command...

'sub hdm harddumbname'

tell hdm hi dude
