Error Installing CMUD on Windows 10 x64

It starts out fine. But when it gets to /Regserver it generates the error:
Error: Access violation at 0x0402CCBB (tried to reat from 0x00000000), program terminated

Thoughts? Help?

Did you run it as an administrator?
My copy survived the update process, it wasn't post-installed.

That's the last step of the installation, and if you're not trying to use CMUD as a COM server, it's not really important. It should be safe to just launch it.

It doesn't launch, it gives the same error when I try to launch it.

a bunch of times... each time you change your data execution prevention setting you need to reboot.
its the exe file and windows 10 that is driving the issue from what I can tell.

I think there is something in the installation process that has changed, yet is required for Windows 10, but i'm not savvy enough to tell you what.

You could always reinstall an older OS, then install CMUD, the update back to windows 10.
A big pain, but it should work if you have the OS.

... I formatted and did a fresh install of Win 7 x64. Be damned if I don't get the SAME issue...
I KNOW this works in 7... so i'm going to assume something was wrong with my 7install to start with and go from there.

the only thing I can think of it that it is a bios or hardware issue... it works in a VM just fine.

- SOLVED -
A Bad BIOS update was causing the issue.
Researching the issue exposed a few other problems that lead me back to the motherboard and then to a BIOS update I was asked to make.
I Re-flashed and i'm solid :)

You managed a post install then, or went with the pre-update install?
