Cmud problems [3.34 regular] |
And before you ask I've deleted EVERYTHING remotely Cmud related off my computer and installed from a fresh download. I'm running Win 7 after recently upgrading from Vista. Since then Cmud has been giving me nothing but troubles.
Should I load CMud from a clean boot of the computer I can start it fine, play about in settings and all happy. Then maybe after about an hour or so, this will happen...
This stops me from closing the settings screen, saving a variable/trigger and even loading the program. This also happens when I switch user from my dads side to my side of the computer. Then sometimes upon closing and reloading CMud it will have that error message or it will have this one...
and a number of various other error messages (I don't have screen shots of all of them)
Curiously, if I shut it down and decided to delete everything, it wouldn't allow me access to the pkg file I was running while using CMud. As I said I've done this across multiple clean installs/deletes. Any help available at all? Also if I missed anything that could be useful in deciphering the problem, let me know and I'll look asap. Thank you! :) [/img] |

You say this happened after a clean install, but I see you have a lot of scripts showing. Did you copy your packages into this new install? The problem is probably a corrupted package. You didn't explain whether you did the reinstall because you already had this problem, but I'm assuming you did.
If you can identify the specific package that is causing the problem, you can try the export/import trick. Export the package to an XML file, then import it as a new package, and try using that instead. |

That package was sent across from a friend (his system) after I reinstalled my system. Humm.

I would bet that the package is corrupted. Dump the package into an XML file (by using export to XML), then go into the mud folder and rename the package so that when you start the session again (offline) CMUD will create a new package. Import the XML file into this new package. If CMUD finds errors in the inbound XML file (something that wouldn't be surprising), carefully copy each setting into the new package. To do this, open the XML file in a text editor, and copy each setting (making sure the enclosing tags are within the capture) to the clipboard. Then simply click on the treeview of the setting editor and paste. You can shorten this procedure by noting which line CMUD complains about and copy/paste from the start to the setting prior to the indicated line, then proceed as noted above.

Could you tell me how much disk space you have free on your drive? If you think the space is sufficient, try defragmenting your drive so that if there are physical errors the system will spare the track(s). SQLite is not very verbose about I/O errors. If it needs disk space and it doesn't get it, it considers that an I/O error, for instance. Of course, these are not the only possibilities, but they must be eliminated. Also, post the stack trace from your bug report, it might be informative.

Other users have also reported similar errors caused by anti virus software, and other programs that use sqlite databases. Apparently windows can get a confused if they're different versions, I have heard on more occasions than not, how windows loads and references DLL is a confusing and complicated ordeal, thus sometimes inconsistency and errors like this. As Anaristos said, how much free space you have on your harddrive, and the stack trace, (viewable by clicking "Show error report") may be helpful in tracking down your problem.
