shortcut for 'find location on mud'

anyone know if theres a way to call this mapper function (find location on mud) from an alias so that i dont have to go through the menus every time?

also, when i go to list objects in room and go to add object i open the database and try to add an object it does nothing. it is in edit mode. is there anything else i need to do

For the first question, I believe you are looking for the #FIND command.

Room objects cannot be added to the map anymore. If I recall, they were disabled when the mapper in ZMud was converted to a true database format (this may have been late version 6 or so). A similar scenario exists for any room scripts you have that were put into the map prior to CMud version 3 (they are still there, CMud just does nothing with them).
