Illegal Token Error - Issue with copy/pasting and colors

On the MUD I play (Aarchon) our color codes use the { symbol

{G is Bold Green, {c is light cyan, {x is to end a color code, etc.

When I type in a color code line it works fine. For example:

{DLilith's Web of Lies{x

If I try to copy and paste some text into the command line, I get an illegal token error. For example:

{DLilith's Web of Lies{x
-50 hp
-25 hp

I've done a lot of work creating help files offline and it would be a HUGE pain in the ass to have to retype or copy/paste some of these lines one by one. Any idea why I get an error when copy pasting more than a single line with color codes?

I usually just turn off parsing when playing with colors and such, click the Apple IIe looking icon near the gun in the lower left corner.

or both of them parsing and triggers.

When using special characters like { in the command line, you either need to enclose the entire command in " quotes, or start the line with the ` line quote character or use Ctrl-R to toggle command line parsing off and then back on when you are done.
