Buttons - Something not covered in the help file?
 
Hopefully there is a simple answer to this question - Can you change the "caption" of a push-button after its created?

The buttons are in a 3x3 grid for positions of party members (11,12,13,21,22,23,31,32,33) (first row, second row, third row) and I want to replace the positions with the name of the character that is in them.

Yes. Use variables as the captions, then change the variables.

If you want to change the caption itself, you have to write out the entire #button syntax (with ALL the code you want your button to execute), and the #button syntax itself is just monstrous (and inconvenient truth, if you will Mr. Green ).
