Odd typo problem that is annoying the hell out of me |
I have an annoying habit of typing ; when I mean to type '.
Normally it's not a big problem, but in the mud it can break up a line of chat into a complete disaster when I type "don;t".
I've try to redefine it or stop it from being recognized under view/preferences/special characters but no matter what I set that to it doesn't change it. (It uses the new one AND the semicolon, or uses the semicolon even tho it's unchecked and inherit is unchecked)
I've also tried various input triggers and those don't work.
I lastly tried making my own additional dictionary file for the spellchecker with semicolon typos, to no effect.
Any ideas? |

It works fine for me. Preference info is found in two places--zmud.ini for the global items, and I think your .mud file for window specific ones, so I'm guessing you've got some sort of corruption issue if it's using two characters for the same special-character task.
Beyond that, are you perhaps sending commands from a different window than normal? The special-character preference settings are specific to the window so it could be this other window still has the semi-colon set as the command separator character. |

Fresh install of 7.21 in a new directory and a new .mud file and I still cannot use a different character instead of ;

I don't see that option in the ini or the mud file either

Well, I finally got it to not act as a real break, now it just "ends" the input line :S
