[Idea] Forum title in each post.

Would it be possible to add the forum title to the post time line for the post? IE "Cmud Beta Forum - Posted: Wednesday, July 4, 2007 12:12am"

I am constantly having to scroll back up to the top or bottom of the page to see which forum I am in when viewing/answering questions.

I second this motion. Though I have to scroll up a lot to use the Support menu, so it's not that annoying.

Putting the date/time in the title would make the title too long. But adding the forum name should be pretty easy. I'll see what I can do the next time I mess around with the web site code.

The posted date/time is already there at the top of each post and I think nexela is saying that having the title of the forum tacked onto the start of it would be useful so that

Posted: 05 Jul 2007 17:10

becomes

Cmud Beta Forum - Posted: 05 Jul 2007 17:10

Correct me if I'm wrong nexela.

I thought that's what nexela meant, Taz, and that's what I was agreeing with.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the "title" of the web page (as shown by the web browser in the caption at the top of the window).

I can't change the line that shows the Posted time at the beginning of each post. That's because there is also a "Post Subject" that can be displayed to the right of the posted time. For example, you can have stuff that looks like this:

Posted: 05 Jul 2007 17:10 Re: This is the Reply subject

So adding the forum name to each line gives less room for this subject. Also, I'd find it really repetitive to show the name of the forum over and over again.

Can I just add the forum name to the web-browser Page Title so that it displays in your browser caption? That makes it better for Google and other web crawlers and gives you a place to look for the forum name without scrolling, without spamming the page text with the forum title.

That's an even better idea, really. I'm not sure if it's just because I use a 16:10 monitor, but I have tons of space up there.

That would work too!
I also think I remember reading that removing the "view topic" text from the page title is better for search engines.
