[1.31] Text Input Icon

The blinking text input icon showing where your text will appear is pushed off to the right, going farther and farther to the right the more you type. Makes it really hard to correct a typo in the middle of your input.

Ex.

Code:

this is something in the text bar             |
^ the icon appears 13 spaces away from the end of the text

Are you talking about the command line at the bottom of the screen, or some other text input box?

You might want to go into your Preferences, select the Style page and try changing your Command Input font. It sounds like the font might be set to something your video card or computer don't support somehow.

I'm not having any trouble like this on my systems here.

Indeed, I was referring to the command line. Apologies for not being clear.

Upon checking Style, it appears there is no font chosen at all for the command line. Choosing a font resolves the issue.

Somehow the upgrade to 1.31 set it to nothing.

That means you had an older CMUD.INI file that didn't have any style set in it (or had a bad style set). It should stay fixed once you have set the font, and it should work fine in a clean installation. Glad it working for you now.
