Well, I discovered the answer - somehow or somewhen the option to display view/panels/tree had been deselected. simple fix. thank you again for the suggestion though.

I click on the button for aliases (or any of them for that matter) and the package opens to display a blank screen.

It is not like the information is unavailable as all of the aliases or triggers ...

no but something similar - rebooting my personal computer and restarting cmud seemed to resolove it. thanks for the suggestion.
