Hate to be bumping an old thread but I'm having this same issue too. I have a fresh install of CMud so I can't say whether or not it happens on other version. I'm on 3.34

On the MUD I play (Aarchon) our color codes use the { symbol

{G is Bold Green, {c is light cyan, {x is to end a color code, etc.

When I type in a color code line it works fine. For example:
