I can dock the status window at the bottom of the screen by dragging it, and highlighting the bottom portion of the icon that shows in the centre of the screen.

I can manually create a tabbed window with the command

#MAKEWINDOW windowname open "internal=yes|align=tabbed"

This is created at the top of the screen. I'd prefer it at the bottom of the screen ...
